C’est Daniel Roy qui a remis à Olivier, Le Set américain - 1re partie du répertoire d'Isidore Soucy. Ce grand violoneux avait gravé cette pièce en 1925 sur l'étiquette Starr. Le Reel de Drummondville, composition de Gérard Joyal, poursuit la suite avant de se terminer avec La Garde partagée des frères Brunet. Réjean et André ont simplement composé la pièce, en garde partagée ! Pour faire un pont entre toutes ces mélodies, Michel Faubert nous avait proposé de faire un court chant, à l’unisson. Nous souhaitons donc remercier Manon Marsan et toute la Famille Soucy de nous avoir donné la permission d’enregistrer un extrait du Vendredi d'la paye de Fernando Soucy.

Le Set américain – 1re partie is part of Isidore Soucy’s repertoire, and Olivier came upon it through Daniel Roy. Soucy, a great fiddler, recorded it in 1925 for the Starr label. This segues into Le Reel de Drummondville Gérard Joyal’s composition. The suite ends with La Garde partagée, a tune by the Brunet brothers. The title means “joint custody,” which is fitting considering that Réjean wrote the first part and André the second one. To bring all these melodies together, Michel Faubert suggested a short song in unison. So we would like to thank Manon Marsan and the Soucy Family for allowing us to record an excerpt from Fernando Soucy’s Vendredi d’la paye.
